Bug description

hi,
the following programm shows that neither Unix.select nor
Unix.sleep works with the Graphics library.

ignore (Unix.select [] [] [] 10.0)

Partially fixed by using async I/O rahter than timer on Linux. General case
remains hard: would need a separate thread to handle events. XL, 2003-02-11.
