Original bug ID: 1584
Reporter: administrator
Status: closed
Resolution: fixed
Priority: normal
Severity: minor
Category: ~DO NOT USE (was: OCaml general)

Bug description

Full_Name: Manos Renieris
Version: 3.02-3.06
OS: Solaris/Linux
Submission from: miette.cs.brown.edu (128.148.38.66)

I'm not sure this is a bug, but it is a bit unexpected.

If I type
-.9
or even
-. 9
the value I get back is -9, as an int.

miette /u/er -> o
Objective Caml version 3.06

-.9;;

  • : int = -9

I don't really understand why.

Yes, it is a bug.

If I type
-.9
or even
-. 9

What you should get is an error.

I don't really understand why.

It's a strange bug in the parser. I have fixed it in the working source.

Thanks for your report,

-- Damien
