Original bug ID: 2723 Reporter: administrator Status: closed Resolution: fixed Priority: normal Severity: minor Category: ~DO NOT USE (was: OCaml general)
Bug description
Full_Name: Lars Nilsson
Version: CVS HEAD
OS: RedHat Linux 9.0
Submission from: host-64-179-106-232.ind.choiceone.net (64.179.106.232)
When issuing make world in a fresh CVS checkout the following
error is encountered:
boot/ocamlrun boot/ocamlc -nostdlib -I boot -linkall -o ocaml.tmp
toplevel/toplevellib.cma toplevel/topstart.cmo
Error while linking boot/stdlib.cma(Gc):
The external function `caml_final_release' is not available
make: *** [ocaml] Error 2
Issuing "make core && make coreboot" before attempting make world
resolves the problem for the time being.
The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
boot/ocamlrun boot/ocamlc -nostdlib -I boot -linkall -o ocaml.tmp
toplevel/toplevellib.cma toplevel/topstart.cmo
Error while linking boot/stdlib.cma(Gc):
The external function `caml_final_release' is not available

Thanks for the report. I forgot to commit the bootstrap compiler
after addding a primitive. This is now fixed in the CVS tree.
Issuing "make core && make coreboot" before attempting make world
resolves the problem for the time being.
You don't need to update from CVS if you already have done that.
