Bug description

This is problem with the bug tracker itself, sorry if misplaced and thanks in advance for forwarding.

When cookies are not supported/filtered out by the browser, any search query silently and mysteriously fails (returns the start page). Most other web sites detect cookies failures and return a good error message.

This problem is still present in 2012, and we still have no idea how to fix it...

I think this is something we're not going to fix ourselves. It also seems like a minor inconvenience.
