Original bug ID: 5587 Reporter:@glondu Assigned to:@damiendoligez Status: closed (set by @damiendoligez on 2012-04-18T13:33:02Z) Resolution: fixed Priority: normal Severity: tweak Fixed in version: 4.00.0+dev Category: documentation Monitored by: mehdi
Bug description
The phrase "allow to" (and its variant "allows to") appears in several locations in OCaml sources, in particular in ocamldoc manpage, and some comments that end up in ocamldoc-generated documentation.
The blind fix is to replace with "allow one to", but replacing with "allow ${verb in -ing form}" might be more appropriate in some circumstances. In case of doubt, ask a native English speaker for their opinion.

For the record, I am not a native speaker. This issue has been brought to my attention because of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lintian/+bug/608231
