Original bug ID: 6891
Reporter: igo_weiqi_baduk
Assigned to: @gasche
Status: closed (set by @xavierleroy on 2017-02-16T14:14:11Z)
Resolution: duplicate
Priority: low
Severity: minor
Platform: Mageia 4
OS: Linux x86_64
Version: 4.02.1
Category: ~DO NOT USE (was: OCaml general)
Duplicate of: #6113

Bug description

There is no #help directive at the OCaml REPL.
(findlib or utop can display directives)

If we forget (or ignore) any of the directives, invoking #help at the REPL prompt (for a listing of available directives and a brief description of each) would be useful.

There was a serious attempt to implement this in #6613:
#6113

Unfortunately, it looks like this patch fell through the crack of code review and upstream integration. Anyone willing to revive the proposed patches by:

  • checking that the patches still apply to the current trunk codebase (or possibly patching else if they don't)
  • commenting on whether or not they satisfyingly implement the requested feature

would be welcome.
