Je commence à jouer avec la version Windows OCaml:

Je télécharge le fichier autoextractible de la distribution binaire de OCaml
3.04 pour windows.

Je lance cet exécutable et répond à toutes les questions par défaut (en
particulier, je ne change PAS les directories d'install).

OCaml est installé dans c:\Program Files\Objective Caml...

Je rajoute le path vers le directory où se trouve ocamlrun.exe (le fichier
readme.win prétend que sous win98, l'installateur rajoute lui-même le path et la
var d'env CAMLLIB, mais il n'en n'a rien été chez moi (?)).

Les outils en ligne de commande attendend les librairies dans c:\ocaml\lib
(comme d'ailleurs indiqué correctement dans le readme.win)

Si on ne définit donc pas la var d'env CAMLLIB, on a (ps: dans le readme.win, on
n'évoque pas non plus la var d'env OCAMLLIB):

C:\mlFi>ocamlc -v
The Objective Caml compiler, version 3.04
Standard library directory: C:\ocaml\lib

*** vérifions:
C:\mlFi>ocamlc -where
C:\ocaml\lib

*** et donc, fatalement:
C:\mlFi>ocaml
Objective Caml version 3.04

Fatal error: cannot open pervasives.cmi
Uncaught exception: Misc.Fatal_error

Il serait sympa que le directory de recherche par défaut des librairies soit
celui de l'installation, non ?

Oui, tout à fait. Je me suis rendu compte -- mais un peu tard -- que
le générateur d'installeurs Windows utilisé pour la 3.04 ne savait pas
positionner une variable d'environnement dans la configuration de
l'utilisateur. D'autre part, le fichier README.win32 n'est pas
entièrement à jour :-( J'espère corriger cela d'ici la prochaine
release.

We now use registry to get default values for env vars
