a concrete example:
except.ml:
let f () = failwith "test"
let main () = f ()
;;
main ()
% ocamlc except.ml
% ./a.out
Fatal error: uncaught exception Failure("test")
% setenv OCAMLRUNPARAM "b=1"
% ./a.out
Fatal error: uncaught exception Failure("test")
