[Caml-list] Using "-custom"

I'm using ocaml version 3.04. In response to the command ocamlc -custom -o translator <object files> I always get the message The syntax of the command is incorrect. Error while building custom runtime system. As far as I can see, the command line is OK. I haven't found these messages listed in the reference manual. Can anyone help?
