Yes, at least here at the Computer Science Department of the University of Bologna it was teached in the past and used for students projects in the compiler course, but this is no longer the case. Still, it is used as a programming language in some research projects. I'm aware of the university of Urbino, in which OCaml is teached as a part of the compiler course.
