Sad,

I've done some work in this direction, although with an object-relational database, not an OODB.  I'm convinced that the OODB concept is fatally flawed.

There is no show stopper in the language as far as database implementation goes.  Well, there are some issues but nothing that can't be cured by adding a method or two to the file classes.
